Albert Gilles Copper Art Studio & Museum: Entry Ticket + Guided Tour + Workshop

01:00 Hours

Description

Discover the talent behind copper art at this family-run museum

Copper art has been part of the Gilles family for nearly a century. Their work has been recognized by the Heritage Council of Quebec for its contribution to copper craftsmanship. The tradition began with Albert Gilles, who created the copper doors of the Basilica of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré. Today, five women in his family continue the craft. During your visit to the boutique and museum, see their copper pieces on display. They have created works for clients such as Pope Pius XII and Walt Disney, and their pieces can be found in churches across North America. Allow about 30 minutes for the workshop and at least 30 minutes to explore the two museums. Before you leave, make your own small copper piece to take home.
